Default Installing stainless hardware kit.

What did you guys do when you installed your stainless hardware kits? Did you just put loctight on the bolts or did you put never seize, or both. The reason I ask is because stainless bolts into aluminium sometimes gives you trouble with dissimilar metals. I dont want to install the bolts and not be able to get them out a few years down the road.

I was concerned about this so I used Hot Toppers to dress things up.

It depends on what its going into and what its needed for.
If its for something structural and 'can't' come apart for safety reasons I use lock-tite. If its for trim or accessories and going into aluminum I use never-seize.
Either will keep the problem of dissimilar materials from raising its ugly head by acting like an insulator between the two materials.

Thats a good point. I never really thought about the loctite seperating the two metals.

I have the bolts on my RK and Hot Toppers on the Heritage. The Hot Toppers look better and are easier to install. The HD chrome bolts had a locking material, the yellow or blue on the threads, with each bolt. So I'd use blue (medium) Loctite.
