Default Can I handle this

I get on the forum just about everyday, I just don't post much.
Here is my ?
I have a 98 Fatboy that i would like to do some winter mods to, I think I will have it painted this winter. I am wondering how difficult it is to take off the tank, front and rear fenders. I am pretty handy having worked on and raced some 4 wheelers in the late 80's and early 90's.
I am also thinking about a cam and S&S carb as it could used a little more umph, but I think I'll paint it first.
I will be grateful for any help

Thanks Scott

You'll find lots of help on HD Forum but not in this section... this is the B/S forum and is full of posers.. you might want to post your question in the softail forum.

Welcome to the asylum and keep your head down.

Those "real biker" types can be dangerous.

Hey sbrn33. How long have you had the Fatboy?
Fenders and tank are no big deal. If you do any kind of wrenching you can do it. Surprised you haven't figured that out yet. If you do your own tune ups and oil changes you can save some serious coin. Then you can buy more tools, and maybe a jack.

The manual wouldn't be need for that job, but they sure come in handy. I would think you could get a used one cheap.

Good Luck

You don't need the performance mods if you just paint everything black - all real bikers know black is the fastest color.
