I have a 05 Fatboy EFI that I just took out of winter storage. I noticed that after my bike is on the red security system icon (looks like a key) stays on. Any ideas why this is happing? The bike seems to be running fine.

 

Check page 78 of the 2005 Softail owners manual. The indicator light that looks like a key is for a security system. There is a chart that explains what the blinking means. I don't know if it works on all bikes or just ones with the security system. There is a full section on the security system in the manual.

 

Thanks mike, I updated my post. So it looks like its a trouble code but no info on what it is. I as also reading about "storage mode" and think this might have something to do with it.
