Default Springer Risers...

So one of my winter projects is to put some drag bars on my xbones. I've got the bars but I need to get an extra inch on the stock risers. I thought this would be the easy part. I have spent a few evenings looking online for Black 4" risers that will fit my xbones but with no luck.

Wild 1 has a set but the have a pull back that I am not looking for, I also found a set at choppersinc but they are not quite what I am looking for either (not the '6 gun' theme).

Looking around I see some 'conversion' studs adapters. Has anyone used these? It looks like these adapter studs should allow me to put what ever 'regular' riser I would like on..?

To answer part of my own question. The bars I have are the WO512's (for springers) which have knurls at 1.5" wide and the total surface area of 2" wide to sit in the risers. Looks like 'regular' risers are 1" wide so I think a regular riser with springer bars would look like crap.

Any one with a springer have 4" risers... and part numbers. Best I can tell if Harley made a 4" riser for springers after 1997, they should fit my bike too. I am checking out the 2008 cvo springer & powdercoat options.

Went to Harley today and browsed thru the 97 & 04 Softail Parts book. Both books have the same part numbers for springer risers and caps in a chrome finnish... But the 97 also has the risers for the BadBoy that are Black from the factory. Perfect! My 08 parts book lists different parts of course becuase the riser is only 3" tall, but I am expecting no issues swapping out an 97 set for my 08 set.
I have also orders the Gooden Tight set for the 97 FXSTSB badboy instead of the stock harley 'guts'.

For any one who comes after me with the same question:
04 & 97
Screw: 3494A
Clamp: 56538-88 --Chrome
Clamp: 56547-95 --Black
Spring: 46059-90
Locknut: 7768W
Washer: 6753
Rubber Bushing: 53156-86
Riser: 53156-86 --Chrome
Riser: 56546-95 --Black
Stud: 56540-88

08
Bolt: 3494A
Clamp: 56897-08
Spring: 46058-97
LockNut: 7768W
Washer: 6756
Rubber Bushing: 53157-97
Riser: 56896-08
Stud: 56565-08

Zacharia_11

I am looking for raisers for my 95 Badboy - I assume that the 97 numbers should fit the 95.
Thanks for saving me some work looking these up.

Zacharia_11,
Dude, you have almost talked yourself through this whole problem!!!!

Let me ask you a question about springer riser spacing. I have found a great deal on a set of Wild 1, 16" apes that are 1 1/4" that are made for a springer. Will they fit in a wide glide front end setup? I have searched and searched and found nothing but confusion. The dealer says springers have narrower risers center to center, but this isn't really what I want to know. Thanks and good luck.

just to let you all know that regular risers will work with the springer if that helps you all any.

russ,
thanks. I am ASSuming that the risers are interchangable from springer to a conventional fork and vice versa.....

I am trying to find out if springer ape hangers will work on a conventional fork? And, if they don't fit, why? Again, because I found a screaming deal on a some apes from a springer that I want to install on my wide glide.......

No they won't. The risers are spaced wider on a springer.

no no no the springer risers you can swap out with conventional risers yes you can ive done it. now the bars are different yes bc of the knurl spacing. so you would not be able to use the springer bars on a gas shock forks.
