Default FXST Values

I was lookin on the Kelly Blue Book site, and it said that the bluebook on an 84 FXST is $6500, and I looked on the NADA Guides site and they said that an 84 FXST in good condition is $6600. I was wantin to know, how close are these to the price you would pay for one of these bikes? I don't want no show bike, but I don't want no junk either.

there value is more like $6,000.00. the blue book for my 90 fxstc when i bought it was $9500.00 but i paid $8500.00. there are so many bikes out there today. older one are going to be around $6000.00 then you get to the 95,s and up which are going to be $7500.00 and up then the 2000 which you can find still for $10000.00. like i said there are so many of them for sale. i have seen quite a few 2002 and 2003 models here go for $10000.00 to $11000.00 so why pay close to $7000.00 for an old 80,s when for a couple grand more you can buy something much newer. as they say, the newer the better. and no matter how its been cared for its still old and you really dont how its been treated. sometimes you get lucky and sometimes its a money pit.

NADA price is a suggestion. I currently ride a 90' springer and would only sell it for $12K plus. It has that much extra on it. (chrome, hand tooled seat, tires/wheels, engine internals, paint & tin, etc.)
