Keep checking for used. There was a guy here selling the top model of Harley brand detachables for $500 a couple weeks ago. Think he gave up and put them on Ebay. Check the old sales listings, maybe send him a message and see if he ever sold them. Stuff isn't selling well online right now with the economy and Christmas killing everyone's toy budgets.
Mine are HD fatboy bags with the fatboy badge on them. They don't have alot of room & are not detachable. More room would be nice but I like the look & the detachable part doesn't bother me. I can easily carry a jacket, raincoat & drink in one bag. A full sized helmet doesn't fit though.
OMG, the Iron Bags are about $1,000!! Are they worth that?
I've had both Iron Bags and Boss Bags. After having both for multiple years, I have to say that dollar for dollar the Iron Bags are the best. I know they are rather expensive, but they will last you many years. They are the thickest leather I have ever seen, great craftsmanship, and they have awesome customer service. Max at Iron Bags can customize your bags pretty much any way you want to. The cargo strap option for the lids are a great thing to have if you ever take a trip. You can strap a jacket, tent, sleeping bag to the outside of the bag while leaving the inside for clothes and other things. I would definitely buy them again, and highly recommend them.
Edit: corrected the mistake that tmitchell found.

Did you mean the Ironbags were the best or the Boss Bags?
Tom
Less expensive bags but very good quality from leatherworks or leatherpros. The leatherworks bags use the easy brackets and the leatherpros have the mounting bracket built into the bag. Both bags leave behind the small mounting nipple. Also both places have very good cutomer service. My wife has the leatherworks bags on her dyna and I have the leatherworks bags on my custom. Both are very good quality bags.
... I have a set of Fatboy bags by HD that are in the product catalog and they are for sale. They sold last year at $650.00 and as stated, were designed to match the seat on an '07 Fatboy. They are in very good shape and have been conditioned regularly.
