Default Saggy Heritage Bags Fixed

Well, got my bags back from Bossbags and am very pleased with the results. The bags look brand new and hopefully will stay that way.
Contoured plastic riveted into lid, sides and bottom. Hasp and lock installed. Turnaround time was about a week, door to door.

One thing I wasn't prepared for was the high cost to ship them to WI. Total of $72. That included box, packing, and $600 insurance. Much of that cost I'm sure falls on the shipping outlet I used. They didn't have the correct sized box and had to move up to the next largest which brought me an oversized package penalty. Ridiculous.

Cost for the work was $195 and shipping back was $25. FYI, they will fit in a box 26.5x18x16deep which is what BB shipped them back in. It was a sturdy box so no extra packing material was needed.

I meant to take some before pictures but forgot but the tops of my bags were caved in pretty bad. And my bike is only a year old. Most of the sagging came from 7 days of riding in the rain in Aug.

Anyway, I'm just very happy I had them retrofitted. As you can see from the after picture the tops now have a clean crisp line.

i've found that the US Postal Service will ship cheaper than UPS or Fed Ex.

Yea, I may try that route next time. I'm just used to shipping large packages via UPS or FedEx.

Thanks to all for their positive feedback. Makes spending the money go down a little easier.

Thanks for sharing the fixer, i didn't know that you could have them done. Much better than replacing the bags!
