Hi all!

So there are several threads on this forums about the 2010 models...I read very scray stuff sometines like a 4-cylinders water-cooled engines and stuff.

So the TC96 is pattened till 2014? That's a good new lol......I'm not against the fact that HD introduces new kind of bikes as long as they keep doing their historical air-cooled Engines that we are many to admire.

Please don't screw up HD!

You'll recall the TC88 was around for 7 years and it was patented to prevent direct knock offs. As I recall, S&S was sued for trying to market one. Anyway, this is all speculation but I suspect they will make a major motor change in 2014 with new intellectual property. Don't look for them to drop the air cooled platform from the lineup. They will have no problems meeting EPA. They may add a H2O motor and it will be market driven and I seriously doubt it will replace the air cooled but would be in addition to the air cooled. I suspect the 2014 air cooled twinkie will have reworked heads that are oil cooled similar to the BMW Boxer motor. BTW, that motor pushes anywhere from 105 - 130 hp in stock form at something like 1170 cc and doesn't have any heat problems or durability issues and runs 12:1 or 12.5:1 compression.

Contrary to the hyperbole on the internet, the Motor Co. will not have to abandon the air cooled motor to meet EPA and they will be able to increase power and performance if they want.

Very well put. I do believe it is the EPA certification that will expire on the current Twin Cam platform in 2012 and we can expect the H2O and redesigned aircooled V-Twin then.
The oil injected heads are true, they are working well on the current XR models. Also the water cooling design is going to be a sleeve design from what I have heard, eliminating almost all of the cooling fins but maintain in the 45 degree V-Twin and not going to a 60 degree.

From what I've seen so far, only a few models will have bigger displacement. I doubt it's Harley desire to compete with Victory, but rather Victory who is on a mission to compete with Harley. Even with Victory's trendy designs and large displacement engines, Harley still seem to be taking the market share with what they've been doing for the last 25+ years. Personally, I rather have a smaller displacement Harley that has "substance" rather than a Victory..Just my .02 on the matter....

PS...I'm sure many of you have seen this from a different post, but thought I'd add the link for the Executive Orders that HD filed for on their 2010 bikes in CA. You can see a few models are getting larger displacement engines (103 cu. in.) but not all.

You are missing the obvious! There will be a limited edition 20th Aniversary Fat Boy, probably with a 103 or 110 motor along with some other bells and whistles.

Two Fatties for the 2010 line up, one as we know it and the other in Harley's 'Dark Custom' blacked-out line up, one would also imagine a bit of Fat Boy anniversary trim on either??
