Welcome to the forum. No answers for you, but I'll give you a bump so maybe someone else can help. You may want to use some capital letters, spaces between sentences, etc. Makes it easier to read. Lots of good info around hear. Good luck.

Curious, what do you meam by 06 Heritage, just built from the ground up?

Could be some one inside your primary trying to get out Seriously, it could be a number of things. I would take it to a reputable shop and have them look at it, to be on the safe side. A big Welcome from Surrey B.C. CANADA

Need more info.
What kind of a knock?
How often does it happen?

Does it go; brumm brumm knock, brumm brumm knock, every 4 revolutions, or when it idles or when you are moving?

Is it a knock or a clang?

Does it happen when it is cold & hot or just hot?

Dan, Welcome to the site. If you want to remove the primary cover to look inside, you do not need to drain the fluid. I would suggest that you put a small block under the jiffy stand just to get it a little more upright. Also, when you are done and putting it back together, you probably should put a new gasket on it and make sure that you tighten the 5 torx bolts in a star rotation. Do not tighten them in a circular pattern. Just my 2 cents and good luck.

Dan, Looks nice. I especially like the left foot operated air horn.
