Default Question

Has anyone taken off there floor boards and replaced them with forward foot pegs? guess this question would be directed towards you taller guy's.

I'm 6ft 3in and as some know haveing trouble with my leg's, thinking about takeing off the floor boards on my softail and replaceing them with foot peg's.

would this give me more leg room? is it easier to place your feet up without tipping the bike when your takeing off?

how is it for shifting and brakeing? would I change out the toe and heel shifter?

what would be a good peg set to get for a 1993 heratage softail? see pic below.

where would I look for the best buy, ebay?

thank's ahead of time for answering my questions, I havn't wrenched alot but havn't found many things I put my mind too that I can't pick up on.

my first bike so never wrenched on a motorcycle and don't want to screw things up you know lol

I put Accutrinix 3" extended fowards on my Fatboy. Check my gallery. I'm 6 foot and they're way more comfortable than the boards. They're on the pricey side but when I got them not many companies made them for 2000 up bikes. Now everyone makes them. Look at the Custom Chrome or Drag books and then call gopartsdirect.com with a part #.

You may want to consider a seat mod before ditching the boards.

Default RE: Question

i just put forwards on my deluxe. Huge improvement imho.

The easiest solution would be to buy HD controls. Everything would just bolt on. I bought aftermarket and had to get a different stand and rear brake line.
