Hey all, about 4 weeks ago I did a post about the new tires I put on my Train. I went to Radials and put a 200/50/17 on the rear instead of the 200/55/17. With about 1500 miles on the new tires the I can not see any wear yet and the handling is far better than the stock Dunflops. Plus going to the 200/50/17 on the rear has changed the over all gearing just enough to make 6th gear much more useable and 4th and 5th right up on the powerband in traffic. Yesterday was the first time in the rain with the new Radials and was far better than the Bias Ply Dunflops. Hope all are having a great new year!!
It's amazing what effect going from a worn out profile to a new profile will have on someone. Think about it. Ofcourse they're gonna handle better until they also wear down..
BTW, your front is a bias like the Dunlop you had.
Your rear is a radial just like the Dunlop you had.
Dunlops vs. What? Shinko? Umm, not me..
I'll stick with the Dunlops. The 200X50X17 looks way too small for the bike anyway, and I won't trust cheap off brands with my life.. JIMO.
