Your bike is looking sweet, you definately got the best color, lol , are you going to leave your turn signals on the bars?? Any problems with them hitting the tank with that 2" tank lift???
hey rockerman thanks. no, the turn signals are going to get relocated. by a frogs hair the turn signal does not touch the gas tank, i was worried about that at first but i checked for clearance after installing and it was ok. some guy posted some pics today of his rocker with a 3 inch lift, looks awesome on the rocker! im going to switch to that. I wont be relocating my turn signals yet, i have to get all my other things for my z bars first, like my extended cables, and all that.
Thats good to know brother, been wanting to do the 2" lift for a while now. Looks like a pretty inexpensive mod that makes the lines of the bike flow more. Been hearing that the fuel light comes on sooner with the lift, was wondering how much sooner the light comes on and if it changes the miles to empty meter, anyone with first hand knowledge???
I heard that it does throw off the gauge, i havent really rode my bike since i did the tanklift because i need to install a fuelpak.so i havent notice. i would recommend the 3 inch lift, my bike has a 2 but im going to get a 3, looks way better, theres a guy on here that did one
Before you spend the money on a FuelPac or PCIII. I would suggest that find a couple of guys who have them in Rockers and ask them where they mounted theirs.
On most to the other Softails there is plenty (yea right) of room under the seat for them. But I have heard that the Rocker and XBones seem to 'lack' the extra space because of the different seating arrangments.
If it isn't easy to mount one you might want to look into getting a SERT or if you have the extra bucks a ThunderMax. TheSERT doesn't add anything to the bike, it just lets you load maps into the stock ECM. The ThunderMax just replaces the stock ECM with an aftermarket version that comes with its own software for modifying and loading maps.
If your not going to go for any more engine mods see if the deraler can download a stage 1 map into it.
That will get its running back to normal at least.
