Default 1000 mi check

New bike, ( 05 Deluxe) approaching the 1000 km mark. Question; what all gets checked out at the dealer's, & is there anything else that ought to be or some that aren't necessary?

Thx

I hope you picked up the extended service plan when you bought your bike.

They will do a bunch of stuff to your bike, about 6 hours of labor i heard are charged for this service, also if there is anything, I MEAN ANYTHING bugging you at this time about your bike, tell the service writer at this time so that it gets looked at.

Examples, freeplay in your throttle, and clutch, any squeeks, rattles, or anything that you may be concerned with let them know.

As for the service I think they adjust everything change all the fluids and just about put a wrench on every bolt screw and alle head.

Hope this helps.

Ride on.......[sm=biker.gif]

I feel it's best to let the dealer do the 1K service. Like WolfDog said, they should check every thing (I suppose you would need to be there to confirm that). I was quoted $190.00 for the service. My bill ended up being $172.00, parts, fluids and labor. It would be a real bummer if something should break at 1150 miles and you didn't get the 'first service' documented.

I got a quick question. I had the service done on my bike at 500 when they installed the pipes, do I need to do another one at 1000? I just got the service manual and I can do a lil wrenching.
