Ok so I installed the floorboard brackets on my fxst and now have the boards to mount to the brackets. I need to know what hardware to use.
Are the boards supposed to pivot up out of the way whereas I would need somekind of shoulder bolt or are they just bolted in place and then I could just use a good stainless bolt with washers and nuts ?
not sure but i dont think they are suppose to pivot, besides if they didnt they would help keep the bike from laying all the way down in the event you tipped it over.
The boards on my 2001 Fatboy pivot up, which is a good thing when you lay it into a tight corner. I have scraped the boards a few times without even trying. I would hate for them to be rigid and dig into the asphalt. It could throw you for a loop. Not a good idea!
If they pivot up a little, you just push them back down and keep riding.
