Get red bulbs for your smoked turn signals that is what I did on my Road King when I added the smoked led tail light. They will work with the run/brake/turn combo. Kuryakyn makes some red bulbs.

Are the red bulbs even visible thru the smoke lenses? Do you have a picture of your bike from the rear? Is there a light for the Lic plate on the bottomside of the tri-bar? Got to have light and reflector here in Arkansas.

Yes there is a license plate light under the LED. Yes the red bulbs are visible through the smoke housing. Just the same as the smoke Tailights. When the signals are on on in running or brake mode, they are almost just as bright as the tail light. I am not running that setup on my Night Train but I will probably put red bulbs in just for the rear turn signals. Not a fan of Amber on the rear at all. I don't want the turn/run/brake on this one. I had that setup on my Road King. Check out my Road King album in my profile but the lights are not on in the pics. But they do work and look good with the smoked lenses.

I'm sure this has probably already been covered but some people were kind of vague. I'm installing my new tri bar tomorrow on my fat bob and I'm wondering if I really need to remove the rear fender to do it. I'd rather not but if it's going to be more of a pain to do it with the fender on then I'll just suck it up.

Unless you have the bike on a lift of some sort, that allows the wheels to drop low enough to be able to remove and install the housing for the tri bar led, you are going to have to remove the fender. It will be easier to remove it than to work around it while it is attached.

You can pull the tail light off without removing the fender. I pulled my tail light off when I cut the whole license plate mounting part off and did it on the side stand in the driveway. you may have to use a longer extension on with a swivel but it can be done. Not hard to do and my bike has been lowered 1" in the back. Good luck on your project.

This will be my next mod before spring.
