Ok so I have made up my mind that I am going to have my tins painted vivid black and I am not keeping the anniv decals on the tank or fender. My questions is does anyone have any pictures or ideas of what style or type of "Harley Davidson" type or font style would look good? I'm up in the air about this. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you considered buying another set of tins and saving the originals? At some point in the future, your original tins will make your bike's value greater. There are lots of sets on ebay many of which go for less than it would cost to have yours painted.

Hey man... I ride an 04' softail standard in vivid black. It is all chromed out almost to the max. Lower legs, all the covers, a wheel from a new fatboy on the front, silver motor, chrome controls, new bars, braided lines... you get the picture. Anyway, black looks good, however, it only looks good for fifteen minutes. All my friends have different colors ie. blue, red, white, silver. When we go riding after just a few minutes my bike looks terrible. Those other colors don't show dust and dirt nearly as bad. When I'm due for new paint. It definitely won't be black. Just food for thought... vtwin88

You have one of the most sought after paint schemes in Harley Davidson history, next to mine of course! If your gonna do it then fine, it makes mine more valuable, but I have to ask why? Buy some used tins and swap...
