Default 150 to a 180 Will it fit?

My buddy has 03 Softail Standard Anniv. Bike has 150 X 16 rear tire. Has anyone tried to stuff a 180 under the fender mounted on the stock rim? His budget won't allow the purchase of fat tire kit Thanks, Rudy T.

It is unlikely it will fit. If it even fits under the fender it will rub the edges of the fender, and the wiring underneath. Never heard of this working without a lot of changes...

It takes a narrow pulley, different spacers, duece wheel and a bit of creativity with a dremel tool or grinder.

There is a thread somewhere here I read.....

Oddly when I look at my 150 shod slammed 05' Night Train I actually prefer the lines of the narrower fender.

For some reason the later 200MM bikes strike me as being cartoonish or almost Suzuki M109R-Ish.

Then again everyone seems smitten with big fat *** rear tirers and fenders so I must be a retard!!!

not only do you have to worry about the fender but you have to worry about the tire rubbing on the pulley.

I think Lundee is right with thew 160...I remember looking in to it once with a friend...also one of the probs with the 180 will be the belt...your tire and belt would be rubbing like hell

Get a fatboy rear fender and then you won't be able to see much of the tire anyway.
