I want to put the passenger floorboard kit on my 08 Deluxe and was cruisn the HD web site to check out the details. I noticed that the website shows the mounting hardware for the floorboards to be avialible in chrome. I went to the nearest stealer to order them and they inform me that it only comes in black but the web clearly shows it in chrome. Stealer said something about the chrome only fits other models and that the web is wrong. Does anyone know if the chrome mounting kit will fit an 08 deluxe, keep in mind I am in the process of changing the stock exhaust over to V&H DBL's. I told the stealer this and they still say the chromes will not fit.....
I used the Kuryakyn anti-rotation support kit for floorboards, and then bought an HD floorboard to mount oun that. The Kuryakyn comes in chrome, and it is a quality piece. Good luck.
I used Kuryakyn's kit,(they make a nice product) with the adjustable foot pegs then HD foot boards. They give my lady friend a couple of foot positions, which makes the long days more enjoyable. On the left side a machinist friend made me an extension, to make them work with the dual exhaust.
If you are putting vance and hines duals on, You can use Heritage brackets. You are going to need a new right side anyways if you go to duals because the right side passenger footboard with stock exhaust mounts to a big exhaust bracket which will be removed when you put on duals. The new right side bracket will bolt to the frame just like your left side does now. Here's a photo of the right side - V & H on, frame bracket for right side pass. footboard.
