For those of you Cross Bones owners who have removed your front fender. Did you need to use some sort of spacer after removing the strut from the axle. If so what did you use? Thanks.
A machine shop or a friend with a lathe should be able to make a pair of stainless steel spacers for you. Just take the strut to them and explain what you need and they will be able to measure the axle mounting section and make them in fairly short order.
I said to use stainless because once you get them you can polish them, put them in and forget them. They will look like chrome without the bother of worrying about rust.
I'm sure that if you look around someone makes spacers, but the odds are they are going to cost a bunch. After all it is for a Harley isn't it?
I have seen XB's that look like they just removed the fender support completely... did not put a spacer in at all....
I think the best way (Whiteboy's) is to remove the existing and modify it yourself.. with a cut-off wheel and grinder....
