Do you have stock exhaust? If so an easier breathing AC may not help at all. I started out with rush and PCIII and the K&N that fits under the football. When I swapped that K&N out for the Kuryakyn Hi-five (it also has a K&N inside, but more open) I got a noticeable bump in power just from that. The Kuryakyn supports builds up to 140HP, so it's probably easier breathing than the SE. Turns out the oval filter was the most restrictive part of my stage 1 setup.
I have the S/E backplate, K & N filter, and I LOVE the look of the stock football cover, so I'm keeping it, but have a look at this link... QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY.... You might change your mind!
I watched the video. Looks like quality stuff, and easy to change/clean the filter when you need to. That's no easy job with the Kuryakyn. Good choice!
For that price go for it. You will love it and it definitely will stop people and make them look. I cant count how many times I have left somewhere to see people standing around my bike and pointing.
I bought the the HD SE Heavy Breather, then took of the filter off (Red???) and got a Wimmer black air filter. http://www.wimmermachine.com/_html/7.html
Or you could just buy the Wimmer it looks just like the Heavy Breather. Its also gotta be cheaper than buying a new filter in black just to change the color. Don't know for sure about performance I bought it for the style.
Ordered!.... Now the wiating game.... Again... Is spring ever gona arrive.
You'll be happy with that purchase. I just installed one on mine yesterday. I got the black one to better blend in with the blacked out look of my Night Train. I installed the rain sock as well to both hide the red of the K&N filter and to protect the filter (I tend to get caught in the rain enough). It looks pretty damn good, in my opinion. I can't wait for the April rains to wash that damn salt off of the roads so I can get my baby out!
