Weird noise

I have a 1999 Fatboy. After riding for a while it makes a really high pitch whining noise around the motor. I can't exactly tell where its coming from. Does anyone know what this could be?

need to try a few things like pull the clutch in, try the front brakes, cut the engine, shift to neutral and anything else you can think of, lean to one side, lean the bike to one side, ect

Could be a compensator problem. When mine losened up, at highway speed, it made a really nasty screaching sound from time to time.

It does it even when the ignition is completly off and the bike is not running. Its almost like the sound when you have a TV on and it makes the really high pitch buzzing sound.

maybe front bearing or brakes, try leaning left and right and also brakes

My front brakes "buzz." When I pull the lever in, it is very obvious but even cruising I can hear the buzz. It has been doing that since the day I got it. 70K miles later, I just figure it is a characteristic of the brakes. I'll be changing rotors in the next few weeks. I'm kind of curious if the buzz will go away then.
