Had 4, 5 and 6 speed, the 6 speed is the best. Reminds me of the close ratio gear set I put in my 78 superglide back in the day. Except now I have two more gears on top.

My 05' Train seems to be barely idling at 70MPH in 5th. 80MPH seems to be where its happiest....Must be my 211 cams. I would want the 6 speed just to stay out of 6th and have that better 5th on the 6 speed. Dang thats confusing.

I agree, I love my 08 Train with the 6 speed. Although I really only use it when I get above 80 or 90, or moooooooooore, LOL. In all seriousness, I have been on both, and they both are good.

depends on riding. we hardly ever ride on Interstate, so most riding is on reg st roads at 55 or so. at 55 should still be in 5th and I get my best mileage at that speed. Seems like the lowest speed for 6th is around 62-63 for rpms to be in the right range...
so if i didnt have 6th i dont think Id miss it.

6 speed is sweet on long highway trips !!! My sporty 5 speed sounded redlined at 80. My 6 speed Dyna cruises at 80.
