Default Cross Bones battery cover solution!

OK, the battery cover is back from the paint shop and it turned out better than I had thought possible. This plastic part no longer looks plastic! I think this is the easiest solution to the cheesey cover.

From the painter: Textured plastic requires an initial sanding to rough the surface. Then shoot a layer of primer. Sand out the primer coat. Shoot the paint coat. Then shoot a couple layers of clear coat.

Total cost at Maaco: $75

Thanks. I went back and forth on the color. Always will love black, but I wanted to go a little different this time. The olive green was doing it for me also. Bottom line: The Cross Bones looks damn nice in any color!

That looks amazing, nicely done.

I have the black denim 'Bones and thus the plastic is not so noticeable. For any other color I might even say that qualifies as a "must-do" mod.

Thanks for posting your pics Chief. When I saw yours I made up my mind to head for the paint shop. Happy Trails.

I like that it blends with the frame.
