Asked Jamie (@fuelmoto) about PCIII vs PC-V and told him what I was doing to my 06 Fatboy and asked
what he reccommended and he said PC-V. So I can only assume that it's compatible and will work.

Well like I said I told him what I was doing, what I was working on, and what
I wanted so if it doesn't work it's on him. I'm 100% sure it will though. As matter
of fact it came in box labelled 00-06 Softail retrofit (or something like that... don't
have box here in front of me, I'm at work.)
Let me know if you find out different. thanks

good advice so far, I'll add a little
make sure you clean your pipes very well before you start it up (sick of hearing that yet?
)
the snap ring pliers are nice, but I managed with my bare hands to remove and reinstall them, needlenose will definitely work.
definitely get a torque wrench if you're doing your own mods, I can see HD voiding a lot of warranty if things aren't torqued to spec.
take your time, follow the directions, and have fun.

rubber gloves to help with grip and to keep oil from skin off the pipes. the old exhaust gaskets are suposed to be ok to reuse but i replaced mine. just remove with neddle nose or forcepts. i used loctite blue on the exhaust bolts and you are to only snug them using a 1/4 drive rachet and equal thread should be exposed. mine are about 3 to 4 thread. install them after lunch so you move slower. Place a towel under the pipes and between them utill they are finished.
the PCV will work 06 and the retrofit will allow you to use the 02 upgrade for full auto tune and save the dyno tune money.
