I'm thinking about making the switch from the Badlander seat to a solo (maybe a solo that has an optional passenger pad so that I can put my T-Bag on it when I travel, then take it off when I get where I'm going). Anyway, I've seen quite a few solo seats, but I want to know what other guys are running.
The good thing about LePera is that they have a "demo" program for $25 + shipping they will send you any seat or seats that are barebone, pan and foam. You can try them out and ride them and make any adjustments if necessary. I loved the LePera Barbones but after 30 mins my bum was killing me, but it was worth the $25.
I'm looking for a solo seat too, like you not sure where to start. I just don't want to buy them all. If there is one that is like the Badlander I would buy it. How about the Brawler from HD? or maybe buy one and then send it out for a gel insert. Just a thought I had
Out of all the choices, I'd keep the Badlander seat cause thats the one I like the best. Keeping the Badlander wasn't one of the choices unfortunately. Good luck with your decision.
The badlander isn't going anywhere. It's off of an '07 'Train. I didn't like the lines of the bike with the stock FXST seat- the rider and passenger sections were too wide looking (from the back). So now, I'm going to take the rear fender rack off, and I'm looking for a solo, since wifey doesn't like to ride much. I may send the badlander off to Mean City and have them add memory foam. This way, I have a more comfortable travel seat.
