I bought an new points cover for the Fatty but I need longer screws for it as it is a thicker cover. They appear to be 4x.80x12 is what I need. Just a couple of threads longer than the original and I cant find the damn things ANYWHERE.
Any help, anyone replaced their points covers? Yes I went to the hardware store and looked online.
If your not really sure of the exact thread size. You can always take one with you to Lowes or Home Depot. They usually have a bolt thread size checker in the hardware section that you can use to try putting your bolt/screw into to find out exactly what size you need.
However my parts manual says they are 8-32 X 3/8", if you need longer ones I suggest you try Lowes or Home depot and get some stainless steel ones that are 1/2" long.
I think they cost under a buck for half a dozen of them.
