Default springers with apes

im driving myself insane thinking about what apes and if apes are what i really want. some of you might have seen my thread about my new springer and some suggested it would look better with apes. HA! and now im begining to think the same way. any help would be great, and i am now thinking they would be more comfortable to longer riding, also internal wiring would look bad *** too. thanks for suggestions. by the way im 5-10" on a good day, 170lbs if that helps.

I have chubby drag bars on mine... Not the best pictures to see them but they are real comfortable and I get a lot of complements.

In my opinion (only slightly biased) Springer bars should only come in two flavors, Apes & Drags! I run 12" Apes on the shovel and just recently put Xbones mini-apes (10") on the Classic. They're both very different bikes but the higher arm position for me is just right. I'm only 5'9" so the 10-12" range seems to work for me.

When all is said and done and everyone gives their opinion, you are the one that has to ride it home. Sit on friends bikes, sit on 'em in the showroom and find the bars that likes you best.

Sorry that I don't have pics, but a friend of mine has 16" apes on his '01 Springer....Looks badass with the dog bone risers, and jockey shift. He's only about 5'10".

I allways loved the old school look of beach bars on springers. Something about it just clicks for me. Like this pic from the Harley catalog.

A buddy of mine has a 98 Springer with 16" apes as well. He's about 5'9". He has back problems, but with this setup he has absolutely no pain. The bars help him to sit up and ride correctly. I'll try to get a few pics of his ride.

relatively new to the ape world. had 14's put on my heritage.would never go back 5'9 1/2 170lbs. actually thinking about 2 inch risers. the 14's are just at shoulder height.apes compliment the springer look imho

I had short Chubby apes and then went with 15" custom-made apes. I have a bad shoulder (throttle side) and could not ride for more than 30-40 minutes with my arms in the air. Since I am a pretty high-mileage kind of rider, that didn't do me any good. I really loved the looks and feel of the tall, black apes, but I just couldn't ride with them for any distance at all. I ended up with a more old-school look that is way more comfortable for me.

Here is a picture of each for you:
