There are many threads on this if you do a search. You can go with just bolts on stock shocks, change the shocks, airride depeends on what you want and how many $$$ you want to spend
Listen to Anubisss. My Train is slammed 2.5" in the rear with the el-cheapo Flea-Bay bolt kit and the thing is a wild ride!! Hitting stuff at 75MPH with essentially no suspension is madness. I think my bike is verging on dangerous (I luv the old beater!)
If I wasnt so broke I would be all over the Hi-Lo air ride system. My front is done with the pr0gressive kit 1" drop. Its not bad. The rear is sketchy at best. Wont ride my old lady down the hwy on it as it so friggin Sketchy!!
I would recommend the Harley Profile Lowering shocks - drops the a$$ about 1" and the ride stays the same. It's not uncommon to lower the back and not the front - just FYI.
I just slammed mine last weekend (my sig pic is pre-drop) with a pair of Ultima shocks. I love the look, but went too low and too stiff, so I need to make some adjustments. My advice -- if you can afford it, go with one of the air adjustable systems. I keep thinking how nice it would be to "flip a switch" and adjust the ride height.
Yeah, my ride is slammed and not the most comfortable ride in the world, but I'm not old enough for comfort yet. My buddies all have raked out choppers with air ride systems and yeah they are sweet, I do think Legends has the best set-up out of box....I'll have one by summers end.
