I will let you know in about a week or so, as I will be on the road with mine slammed. I will try to live with it this summer if not that bad. I would lov air ride, just not enough funds for it right now. I agree with everyone it is the best of all worlds.

Be sure to check out http://fatbillscustoms.com/

Lots of good info there on lowering, adjusting preload, and more...

You can go the most inexpensive route with the adjuster nuttz kit for the rear shocks.

I've got my rear cheapo adjusters all the way out, giving me about 2" of drop...I can say that I've got no issues with the ride...the bike is as stable as it was stock...stiffer yeah...but the bike still rides straight and solid.

I'm pretty happy with the adjusters...when I sit on the bike it lowers about another half inch setting it up to where the top of the chrome rim sits right at the bottom of the rear fender when I'm riding.

Eventually, I'll be going to an air ride system, but like many others, the money isn't there for that right now.

As for the front end, there are a few shade tree/ghetto fabulous ways to bring the front end down...but I wouldn't recommend going ghetto. I've got progressives up front and the ride is firm and responsive. I've got a couple friends that went cheap and there bike is low...but really sloshy and they tend to bottom out really easy.

I used the H-D lowering kit on my Train, dropped the *** end about 2", and left the front alone...I can't speak for anyone else, but dropped mine 2 years ago and the bike handles great...I can ride 2up with absolutely no problems, and no complaints from me or the passengers...an avg day for me might be 100-200 miles just runnin' around, so I don't just bar hop, and the ride is comfortable...
