I've used one for a couple of years and haven't had any problems. Use it on a 1200 and a softail. I always use 2 straps on the bars and 2 on the tail and I don't ever store the bikes for long periods on the jack.....makes servicing & washing a lot more convenient.

Larin has two models the MAL-2C (92lbs) with a 1500-pound lifting capacity (see below), and the LATV-J (80lbs) with a 1500-pound lifting capacity (see below). I have a Rocker C with a dry weight 686.3lbs of and running order of 720.7lbs and your bike (FLSTN Softail Deluxe) has a Dry Weight 695.0 lbs and Running Order of 724.0 lbs. Both of the above models should work well with your bike. I have the MAL-2C and Have had no problems with it at all, and have been doing mods to my bike this winter using it.

It was the first thing I bought for the bike. I use the jack to move my bike against the wall so I can park my car inside, so I've used it almost everyday since April 2006. The jack is still going strong. I only use the straps when changing the shocks (4 times total), or when every the work requires jerking at a tight bolt. You can also use a car jack under one wheel to give it rock hard stability. 2.5 inches low with stability arms. See my original thread on the Larin jack.

From what I've read, with the Deluxe most jacks are a really tight fit under it, due to being a little lower. Most jacks I've seen have a lowered height of 4.5", like the LATV-J. The MAL-2C will go to 2.5". That's the one I'll be getting, since my bike is going lower than stock, also.

Thats the main reason I bought it, mine will be 2' lower than stock when done. It seems like a good jack and tested the lowering rate and you can go slow enough to feel safe with it

The ground clearance on a Softail Deluxe is 4.8" the lowered height is 4.5" for the LATV-J so it would be a close fit. If planning on lowering the bike the MAL-2C would be the better choice. I forgot to consider ground clearance in my last post.

Default Go With the Larin

See this post and the photos of the Larin MAL-2C next to the red Sears Craftsman.

The Larin works great for a low bike and the stabilizer arms keeps everything steady.

Nice photos posted by Phantommaxx.
