those of you that installed a heartland kit does your struts touch the fender after you tighten the struts down???...........the reason i ask is ,wont the paint get rubbed off from vibes???...........thinking about putting a spacer on the inside of the strut...........wut do ya think???
I'm still waiting to get my fender back from paint. I should have it back the 1st of next week. To answer your question I am planning on putting some rubber washer between the two. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I think if you tighten it down well on both sides you should be okay with the rubbing issue. Im tightening the $hit out of mine. Me no like things falling off bike!!!!! There is nothing wrong with throwing some spacers in between.... will it show a slight gap though?
well when you look at the instructions that came with the kit the pic of it done looks like a tiny gap............but when i mocked mine up it touches the fender and i paid 300 for paint and dont want any rubbing the paint off i think i gonna space it...................................hows yours coming ,mine should be done tonight if the old lady dosent make me go out to dinner lol
Still waiting on the brackets for my turn signals and light for plate holder. I am so busy and the weather sucks it is not bothering me. That stuff will be here monday. Probably by the weekend but if not then the following. Even in mock up there was no gap. I do not think it is going to rub. If it does down the road I have it set up so everything can just come right off and wet sand it myself. Now I will have to keep and eye on it(thanks bob). with the air suspension it makes it really easy to get to the bolts without a lift. Lights just unplug from the module. I am still debating on wether i am even using the brackets or putting them on the fender. Dunno yet. I want the cleanest look possible.
where are you located............im in MN and they sent me the right bolt for my plate holder, i got it in two days.............im useing the brackets it will be a clean look
Down the frame tubes. I have a front chin spoiler so it runs behind that. Some zip ties and walla. One wire down each side. Your tech will have to run some extra wire.
