Default Now the difficult part.......paint

Now that I have selected my rims, drive side set up, heartland kits, fenders plus all the other bells and whistles, I thought the difficult decisions were behind me. I thought to myself, self how hard could it be to select paint. I am fshing for some input and ideas. The outcome I'm looking for is drag/hot rod. I don't know if I should go suttle or over the top. Straight black is simple yet clean, I'm was thinking soft ghost flames, tribal flames, old school pinstripping. My brain is mush and can't decide. Any ideas, photos, etc. would be a huge help. Oh and I was going to powder coat the console on the tank black to blend better with the tank. Everyones insight has helped me to this point and is much appreciated. Thanks.

I really like some of the HD Paint Sets that they offer but they are pricey.

Here's two cool links for paint ideas and quality painting:

I like a deep black with ghosted flames. I hear black is faster than the other colors anyway.

Has anyone used those paints that change colors with the angle? I can't remember the brand but I understand it is pretty expensive. House of Color maybe?

Still, black is best with a subtle touch in my opinion.

I am using a guy out in Arizona that my shops uses. They are a Ness dealer and this painter does all of Ness' bikes. I am looking at $1500-2k for 2 fenders and the tank with 3 colors.

I guess I'm not familiar with what type of bike you have...but if it was my bike (an X-Bones..or bobber) and I was getting it painted, the picture of the bike I attached (its called Hot Rod by Exile) is what I'd be having done. Its old school, not as fancy as ghost flames...and pretty cool, IMO.

Good luck with your choice.
