Just wondering if you can put FXST lowers on a Fatboy. Wanting to put a 21" wheel up front. Ive heard of this but dont know how much work is involved or just a direct bolt up. Thanks
yes, you can. both fork tubes are 41mm, and therefore interchangable. but you don't need to change the sliders just to put a 21 on there. Maybe for fender clearance? I have an aftermarket fender made for a 21, so I don't know about putting a 21 on with a stock fender. the FXST sliders are also 1 inch shorter (overall, top to bottom) than the FLST sliders.
FXST 16"
FLST 17"
Not sure, but the cowbells may not overlap the FXST sliders with them being shorter? I didn't try this set up.
FLST on the left, FXST on the right. Notice the fender mounting holes are slightly higher on the FXST sliders.

Thanks. I am about to chrome the front end anyways. Just thought if I get the FXST lowers instead of the FLSTF lowers then it would save me money in the long run.

what year model fatboy do you have? i have a set of chrome FLST sliders from a '93 FatBoy. Or I have the set of FXST sliders (in picture) from a 2000-2006 FXST.
Hey thanks for your help. I emailed HogPro becasue they have a picture of a Fatboy with the FXST lowers on it. Didnt get much out of them with the expection of yes it worked. However they did install a 1" lowering kit. Would this make up the difference in the lenghts?

sure would. i recently installed the progressive "drop-in" lowering kit on mine. which really isn't a complete drop in kit like the video shows, but it's still the easiest way to go. i can get some pics up in a couple of day when i get the bike outa the shop. there are quite a few people on this forum that have made a 21 inch change on their fatboys, heritages, and deluxes. have you searched through any of these folders? that's what i do when i'm looking to change something, i see something i like and then send them a PM with questions. i hope he doesn't mind, but i think i know the right person you need to talk to. his screen name is Anubisss and he has one of the baddest fatboys i've ever seen and he has a 21 on his. Anubisss, I hope you don't mind me referrencing you. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/membe...-anubisss.html
hey thanks. Id like to see some of those pics when you get it back. I looked at Anubisss pictures. Looks like he had a fender extension bracket installed. Ill keep looking around tho.
