Ok..... So I bought the pivot bolt covers not reading the fine print...... I have passenger floor boards and the covers will no go on with the set screw..... Anybody got any ideas how i could put these on my bike wo loosing the floor boards?????? I want to cover up those ugly bolts!!!!!!
Why can't you use the setscrew with the floorboards? Can you take the floorboards off and install the cover bolts first? What about 3M emblem tape although you may need to build up a few layers. I'm not sure the inside face of the bolt covers actually is in contact with the head of the bolt.
RETURN THEM OR SELL THEM ON E BAY. i had the same thing had the nut covers on 1st then went for the floorboards nope i gave them to my nephew that just bought a springer
They will work, like they are they will not go on far enough due to the
floor board bracket...BUT they can be modified to fit. I have them
on mine with the floor boards. Hold the cover on where the set screw
will hit a flat side on the pivot bolt or nut, then mark with a marker
where the floor board bracket is. Remove the cover and cut or grind
away as much materal needed to make the cover fit flush to the frame.
Then you will be able to tighten the set screw and they will stay on.
About 1/4" needs to be cut off. Trust me it really looks
nice.
