I bought a used 2008 Night Train from a dealer in Florida. I had it checked out at my local dealer to see if it had any tuner or maps. They discovered it has a V&H Fuel Pack. It also has V&H Big Radius pipes and an Aleness Big Sucker A/C. My question is would I get better performance if I took off the fuel pack and put on a screaming eagle race tuner. It dyno's at 76.76 HP and 90.40 TQ with the fuel pack.
Better performance? Maybe marginally but unless you plan on doing further engine mods you could find better uses for your dollars. They (HD) then to fire a little on decel anyway, so long as it's not excessive it's normal.
Mine went from 63.99 hp to 75.41 HP and 78.16 TQ to 87.36 tq after a dyno tune so i would leave it and spend the money on something else
You actually got very nice gains. He isnt gonna get that much though......I would bet that his fuel pak deal works good enough to have it pretty close. In your case 12 extra TQ and 10 HP though? Thats good stuff!!
90TQ would have to be at the crank....not the wheel. My '07 FXST bone stock made something like 67hp/76tq
Yeah I dunno what I was thinking...My bike is a mild stage 3 and only makes 104TQ!! It started its life as an 88TC and is now a 95".
By all accounts the OP's bike is making nice numbers for a stage 1 bike. Real nice!!
the 63.99 hp to 75.41 HP and 78.16 TQ to 87.36 tq after a dyno tune was from stock to rush slip ons and pcIII and big sucker. I dont have a dyno yet on what the thundermax and the hookers get. I feel like the TQ has dropped but the HP went up.
