I used the twenty dollar midwest kit I found on ebay. Rode it to 300 miles with shocks set to max stiffness with no probs. Wasn't bad at all.

if I lower 1.5" is that affecting the shock stiffness? why the mention of "max stiffness"?

i keep mine in the middle..........you can adjust the spring in the seat spongey or stiffer.............i just lowered mine this winter from 1 1/2 to 2 inch drop and its a major diff if i put the wife on the back im gonna have to stiff it up a bit when i had 1 1/2 i didnt have too.........1 1/2 drop will look good with a stock fender but i have the heartland kit now and it looks better lower

I would just lower it the 1.5" without adjusting the stiffness.....any need to adjust stiffness?

no not if its in the middle.............you can buy a wrench to adjust your stock shock from hd (not much $)........its a 1 min job to adjust the stiffness with the wrench, dont even need to lift the bike.........i think i might have a pic of it lowered with the stock fender.........this it 1 1/2 and it saggs a little with you on it

with me and the wife on it it went down to the tip of the sidewall..........gotta do it it handles better too
