I think that where you confusion is when you are shopping for parts is that in 07, you got the 96in motor. When you are looking for pipes or ecm stuff, it will say for 07 or newer because 07 was the first year that they all were 96 in and they were all fuel injected. If you just contact whoever you are trying to buy the pipes or ecm from, they will tell you what will work and what won't.
Great news guys! so i ordered some new gear for the bike! I did some research on the ThunderMax Auto Tune and went ahead with that. Then got the Ness Big Sucker, along with the Vance and Hines Big Radius 2-2.
Question is should i wait till after the 500 mile break in? or does it matter? I wouldn't think it would matter sense it is an auto tune computer or would it?
Put it in there. Read the manual & follow all the instructions. Be sure to pull the ECM fuse and fit the wide band sensors onto the headers before you mount them onto the bike. If you get in a bind, call or email Randy at Thundermax.
Last weekend I installed Hooker Long Straight Rebels, PCV and Ness Big Sucker stage 1. Based on what I've read on this site, I purchased PCV and BS from Fuel Moto. I agree with everyone that Jamie and Keith at Fuelmoto are excellent to deal with and highly recommend them.
I found the PCV and BS easy to install on my 08 Deluxe. The pipes did not go as easy as I thought. I have only had a chance for a quick ride but based on that ride, it sounds great and runs well. I had decel pop before with stock setup and didn't notice any on my ride with mods. Good luck.
Just put the PCV in (took 30 minutes to include having the wife talk to me while installing). I'll ride tomorrow since the weather here has been rain for the last few days. Good luck with you choice.
The Power Commander is awesome and very easy to install, i had the PCIII on my Nightster. But i was just thinking long term when i went with the Thundermax w/ auto tune for the Deluxe. because in the future i plan on up grading the motor and various things.
