I'm getting a new seat, and need a better/taller sissy bar and a wider pad for the ole lady. For whatever reason, I haven't had much luck finding info on what will and won't fit a custom. Anyone found anything that works or have any pics? Thanks.
Thanks for the replies. I guess if you want something functional and that looks cool you're better off making your own. I've looked at that twisted one but not sure about mounting a comfortable pad on it.
show us your bike so we can have a better idea what might look right/good on your bike
There should be a pic in my sig, but I can't get it to show up. Right now I still have the factory 08 custom seat, but am looking at mustang, corbin, and saddlemen.....though saddlemen doesn't appear to have much to fit my bike.
If you are looking at Corbins - this one gives somewhat better support for the passenger's back - you can see from the side view that it comes maybe 4" higher than stock. It is specifically for the FXSTC and works with the stock sissy bar only.

Hey, that bike looks familiar......
I do like that seat. We were planning about a 1400 mile round trip this summer and I'm not sure she'll be comfortable with that backrest though. Where did you order that seat from? They're pricey on the corbin website. Thanks.
I have gone through the sissybar dillema as well, I bought the twisted sissy bar and I love the look but wanted something much taller like 30"+ and after searching and searching I have decided to get one custom made here in town by a buddy of mine.

I ordered it directly from Corbin; it is built well and looks good, but yeah it is expensive. And the backrest is not quite high enough for my wife on a long ride, so yours may not be happy with it either. I had to rig up a detachable backrest that fits over and above this one; looks lousy but she likes it. And it is firm too. My wife may never break in that back seat. Overall, I'm not sure I'd recommend it for long distance 2-up. You're probably on the right track looking elsewhere.
You have some good rides near KCK. I lived in Leavenworth for 11 years (no jokes, please). Nice rides out in Jefferson county. Ride safe.
