Hot? Say boiling oil 10 times real fast. I have 13,000+ miles on my 07 and did a stage 1 on her with full synthetics and it helped a little. I am sitting on a combustion engine that is air cooled so after I build up enough callous on the inside of my thighs, I accept the fact she gets hot. Many a times I have detoured out of traffic to hit the wind and have enjoyed 99.9% of it. Although I have been late getting home, to work, appointments, more than once, it has been well worth it. I love this bike, more reliable than my old 81 low rider.
Have an 07 Fatboy and never really noticed it too bad til I was stuck in traffic as Sturgis. I thought my right thigh was about to ignite. I put a new seat on that is narrower in the front between the legs and I noticed it got worse. Old seat must have served as a little heat shield?
If you suffer from heat problems while sitting in traffic, check out or Crotch coolers they do work very well.I can tell you that they work very well and that we sell a lot of them.If it does not work as advertised simply send it back for a full refund. We also can make them match the studs on your softail.Thank you
These things work great. I personally have the ones made by "No More Fried Thighs". I put them on in the spring and remove them late in the season. I feel very little heat now.
I have stage 1 with V&H Big Shots and run HD synthetic oil. It's still hot as hell without these heat deflectors. Oh ... I also put on an HD Oil Cooler. It helped some but not as much as I hoped.

07 & 08 riders with heat issues....please read the thread that I started here...it is my conversation with the makers of XiED's over the last week....great results from a company that actually understands how your bikes ECM works....good reading
I have a 2007 FLSTC with a Screaming Eagle Stage 1, V&H BSS and a SERT. I run Mobil 1. I can get to about 230 as well if I'm stopped in traffic on a really hot day. Other than that, no problems.

go to www.nightrider.com to see how you can lower that max temp 20-40 degrees...for just $109
Yeah, my '07 ran a little hot like the rest of 'em, due to the lean emission limits mandated by EPA...went to Mobil 1 synthetic fluids, changed to older set of SE pipes, Ness Big Sucker, and a dyno'd PCIII...the bike runs cooler, much stronger, sounds like a Harley is supposed to, and I'm a happy camper...if you just want to cool down a stock bike, yeah, there are cheaper routes to take, but I've never been interested in running a quiet, stock bike...but that's just me...

My '07 ran hot, but pipes, ac, PC III and synthetic cooled it down significantly. Don't have actual numbers, but I can't feel it radiating anymore, which is nice.
