Mystery Question
Thanks to everyone who responded to my front end wobble 06 Deluxe. Two hot cups of Harley cofee and $75 later, I'm out the door cruis'n and everything appears to be perfect. Loose fork bearings was the problem and everything else checks out ok. Bike rides nice and smooth now. But now I have a new dilemma. It seems like it is only when my wife is on the back. As we decelerate toward a stop, there is a semi-high pitched noise in the front end. Kinda sounds like the drone of a winding-down motor. At first, I thought the front tire might be rubbing, but there's plenty of clearance from the fender. The noise doesn't change when brakes are applied. I'm not very knowledgeable about bike mechanics, just love to ride. Does anyone know what this is or if it's normal?

Do you know if they replaced the bearings. Depending on how long you rode the bike with the loose adjustment bearings are funny. They like to establish wear patterns. If they just corrected the adjustment and didn't replace them you might be hearing the wear pattern coming through. If that's the case it might work itself out over time. I'd take the mechanic for a ride and let him hear it for himself especially if you can say the sound wasn't there before.
