I live in the high desert area of So Cal , summer temps here are in the low 100s and I have though about an oil cooler but never made the decision to add one. Unless Im in bad traffic I dont run above 250 and only once has the temp management system kicked in and that cooled the engine.
I think the more Hp you pull from your engine the more you will need and benefit from a cooler. The past 3 or 4 issues of American Iron Magazine have been running an on going article by Donnie about oil coolers and the best ones ect. He seems to believe that the Jagg coolers are beter than the HD coolers.
i have heard a lot of good things about the jagg oil coolers too. i personally i a harley oil cooler. i have had no problems with it. my bike never gets over 210 degrees.
