Default New Key

I hate to be a moron here but this is my first hog. I need an xtra key. I only have one now and would like a spare. Do I have to buy one of those 59.00 ones at the dealership? and how do they cut those round barrel keys?
Thanks

Yes you have to go to the dealership, but you dont need to buy one of the custom keys (skull ect) for $ 50. Just request a duplicate key, they order them from the MOCO. My dealer requires that you bring a copy of the registration and ID

Or just visit you local locksmith, most can cut a new key. I got 2 made for $15 and 10 minutes.

I didn't know you could get them from anyone else but Harley. I lose mine often enough that info will come in handy.

At HD, all I had to do was give them my VIN. Took about a week to arrive and they were pretty cheap.
