Default Thundermax

Took my bike into a local custom shop to have 16" apes and new cables installed last week. While I was there, I got to talking to the owner and he suggested installing a Thundermax to get better performance, more HP, etc. I'm having him do it even though I already have the SERT. If anyone has the Thundermax, I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks.

You should re-post this in the engine thread and/or the tuning device thread. You'll get more responses. Just my opinion, I wouldn't spend the $$$ on a TMAX if you already have a SERT.

the thundermax will replace the sert if you really have one. if it is just a download for your ecm it is not sert unless you have the module for sert. I have the thundermax and love it as i dont have to do any more dyno tunes and it will adjust for all kids of changes from wind to weather to altitude to fuel to passenger.

Yeah my guy at the custom shop says the Thundermax is well worth the investment so I told him to go for it. Should have the bike back sometime this week...

Thumbs up +1 Tmax

I got my ThunderMax because I did not want to keep spending $$$ for dyno time after each Mod. I had SERT before.
Now with 103 build in progress TMax will take care of that, and run well- no dyno. And, my Indy likes them and sell them at his shop.

Ride Safe.

Mark

I Installed the T-Max with Auto Tune when I put my RSD's on...
IMO a big improvement...
I like the fact that you plug it in... make a few adjustments and head on down the road..

I'm sure you will be happy with the switch!

I got mine used for 450. i did mods and would have to pay for another dyno tune. all those other fuel systems will be close but not exact. even with a dyno tune my PCIII was on at a certain temp and altitude and time of year. With Thundermax it is always on.

I just ordered mine w/AutoTune. When you say a couple of adjustments, what do you mean exactly??? Is it difficult to adjust or does the base map get it close enough to auto-tune. My setup should be fairly standard Stock 2008 FXSTC with V&H BSS, B&N Filter Kit, what do you think??

Basically you just need to pick and load the base map....
quick and easy there are a few other things you can mess with... if you want...

I bought it thinking I would dive into it and tinker with my A/F ratio....etc... but I just installed it and have not messed with it since.... no need to !!!
