Default Changing Switch housing - 2000 Heritage

I purchased chrome switch housings to replace the black on my 00 softail heritage. The left side is a breeze...the right side seems not to be changeable due to the throttle cables that go into the switch housings. According to a manual I have, the throttle cables can be unscrewed from the housing. This isn't the case. There are two retention rings holding the throttle cables in the housings. They're not snap rings..even if they were...I'd have to have a barbie sized snap ring plier to remove them. The retention rings are like snap rings but have no openings at either end. Does anyone have any experience with this? This is the only things I need to remove in order to be able to replace the housings on the right side. Thanks

The throttle cables will pop out. The little smap rings will compress. Just give it a good pull and they will pop out. When I changed mine out, I was stumped on how to remove the tiny little retainer rings. I searched this forum and found out that they will just pop out if you pull on them.
