Save your money and get the Ness kit.

I bought my 2001 FXSTDI about a month ago and it has the forward controls. I'm 5'6'' and I'm having a hard time reaching the pegs. I'm going to have the stock mounts chromed and put them back on. So I'll have just the mounts to sell from my bike if you think they'll help.

the Arlen Ness kit uses existing hardware and does not modify foot pegs or anything. It comes with the cables, junction box and all hardware needed.

Thats the kit..I bought that one for my 04 about 3 years ago and it made a world of difference. Plus, at first I thought I wanted chrome, but soince this mounts close to the frame (and my frame is black) it looks real good.

Yes that is the correct kit. I had HD install the same time I was getting a service done. I did not want to mess with bleeding brakes and stuff, but should have done it myself because they messed it up anyways, lol.

buy ness or make your own. if you had a mate that has a kit fitted(like me) he would let you use it as a template, you make it up in steel have it plated, it cost u next to nowt! thats wot mates do
