I've got an '07 Fat Boy, and I desperately need some forward controls. I've looked at HD's forward control kit, and I'd rather be able to keep the floor boards instead of converting to pegs if it's at all possible. Does anyone know of a forward control kit that just moves the boards and controls forward instead of swapping out to pegs? Also, to those of you that have put on HD's forward control kit, how do you like it? How much further forward are your feet compared to the stock mid-controls? Did you have to relocated the rear brake's master cylinder, or does the kit just use a longer rear brake lever?
do you just want to kick your feet out some? if so, kuyrachen Mark IV highway pegs, attach to the bottom of the floorboard, stick out and in front of boards, add your pegs and stretch out.
Those don't look bad, but by the time I purchase them and a set of foot pegs I'm almost in for the same amount as the forward control kit. I know that the forward control kit doesn't include pegs, but between the two I think I'd rather have forwards.
I used Arlen Ness 3" forward control extensions on mine. They say they're just for forward controls, but they bolt right up with the floorboards also. Moved boards and controls forward 3", made quite a difference on comfort.
