Red face 2009 Heritage Softail - Saddle Shields

Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody has purchased the Saddle Shields (heat) for their '09 Heritage.

The bike engine gets way to hot here & is burning up my jeans !!!

Kuryakyn does a reflective smoke Saddle Shields Part Number: KY-1186. However this does not seem to fit the 2009 Softail Heritage models !!!

HELP any ideas folks !

Cheers.

stage 1 and cams has cooled mine down almost 40* degrees and was money well spent. try it and you'll like it plus picking up about 20% TQ & HP..............

+1 on getting properly tuned, any fuel management system will help cool it down.

Don't forget about the XiED. That thing is supposed to cool these puppies down about 20-40 degrees, and you don't have to pay for an HD Stage 1 flash. This post just reminded me that I have to order one for myself. They come highly recommended by many people on this forum too.

Thank you Gents for your valuable feedback.

Afraid I already have the following installed on the bike (I ride in the Middle East / Dubai - bloody HOT here especially in summer !!!):

1) V&H Big radius pipes with a Power Commander dyno.
2) SE Air Filter.
3) Oil Cooler.

It did cool down a bit, however it still runs too darn hot !!! : <

Here is my bike on YouTube:

What s the "XiED" ???

Wish I could locate/purchase the model specific saddle shields... aaaah!

Cheers.

Kuryakan has them.

Any of us that ride a Twin Cam in warm weather know just how hot and uncomfortable the heat off the rear cylinder can get. These will cure that in a hurry. Contoured polycarbonate panels fit cleanly between you and the engine and do an amazingly effective job of keeping the heat off your legs.
Fits: All '00-'09 Softail Models (except Deuce & Rocker/C)

Also available are the RJ's Original Heat deflectors. nice product, works very well, and can even be purchased to match the seat on the heritage (studded)
