I am wanting to add a set of bags on my 08 Fatboy. Any suggestions on where to get a set. I want to get a decent size bag. As I do plan on doing some trips with it. Pictures would be great of your bags.
I just last week put a set of HD detachable bags on my softail custom HDpart#88238-07. Igot them from a HD dealer in fla, $640.00 on e-bay..punch in the part# on e-bay and you will find them..I already had the turn sig relocated and the docking points on my bike. PS the harley catalog says they won't work with axle covers, BUT they do with plenty of room on both sides I'll post some pics when I get a chance

It seems Ironbags, Bossbags & Osprey have the largest and great quality.
I sent my original 00 Heritage bags to Osprey. He duplicated them (shape, size etc) using sturdier leather and latches and so on, using the stock HD backing and mounting syst. I think it was about 4 bills. That was over 5 yrs ago. They still look great though. And no . . . the lids don't sag!!
I have the HD Detachables on my 09, they could be wider, but they are good size and wrap around the shotgun exhaust. I also have T bags for the Bar/rack for full travel ability. The Boss Bags may be better if you want to carry a helmet in them, as the HD bags again are narrow.

I got mine the same way. Not sure if same dealer, but it was sure cheaper than my local dealer by $200 if I remember right. Fit good but never enough room. I'll try and find a pic......here's the best one I got, sorry only one side. The other side is a little bigger of course with no pipes to go over.
Oh ya, the install...I thought it was overwhelming myself. I had another guy help me. The turn signals were a bit__!
i find the bags i want then search ebay for a used set. i have the dowc/ironhorse roll bag on back, so i know the quality, then kept an eye on ebay for a set of bags, they sell for $300.00, and found a set, like new, for $80.00 to my door.
