200 Rear tire on 04 FXSTi?

200 Rear tire on 04 FXSTi?
I have an 04 Standard and plan on needing to replace my rear tire this fall. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to put an 06+ rear fender, struts, sprocket, belt ,wheel and tire on my 04?

The tranny has a different offset.
Save yourself the aggravation and contact Heartland. They are realeasing a new 200 kit for the 99-05 bikes in the month or so.
The cheapest route to a fatter tire on the 03-05 bikes would be going to a chain drive with an aftermarket fender. Then you could do a 180 rear in the $1000-ish price range if you did most the work yourself.
Hogpro has a kit as well I think?
Heartland has a 180 kit and I think its almost 2 grand and you still have to get the fender painted and install the deal!
Wait and see what Heartlands new 200 kit for the older bikes is gonna look like.
I'm actually a fan of the old school narrow assed bikes. Somehow the big fatass wheel and fender on the 06+ bikes hasnt set in with me yet. My first thought when I saw one on the showroom floor was how it looked like a metric from behind....Suzuka M109-ish?
But I'm in the minority. Most guys want and lust after the fattest tire they can put on. I'm into the narrow *** rear fender classic softail look and 160 for all around ridability.
So long as you arent running those big seats that look like couches the original styling cues for this bike are timeless. To me the symetry of the 03-05 with the 150-160 tire and the original sized rear fender flow well with the character of our bikes. The previous 130 tire sized 84-02 bikes are just a tad narrow tho.
I'm installing an 18X4.25 black spoke with a 160/60/18 tire next week. Cant wait. Tall and narrow rocks when done right!
Like this bike. Think this dude is rocking an 18 rim with a 140 tire....Thats just pure badassness personified. I found this bikes wheel setup and stance to be so striking that I was on the phone with DNA the night after drooling over this guys bike having a set of black wheels and hubs with stainless shiny spokes put together.

I was going to do this same thing to my 2000 Night train. You can do it for a fraction of the cost of the other kits if you do it yourself. I was buying the things I would need as I found them on ebay. I bought a stock wide fender with tail light, struts, wide wheel and pulley. I even bought a swingarm off a 200 softail just in case I needed it. I think I have about everything needed except a skinny belt. I decided to wait on doing the conversion. I replaced the 130 that was on the bike with a 150. I really like the look of the 150 and I'm thinking about just leaving it like that. I couldn't believe the difference the 150 made over the 130 in looks.
So, I would consider selling the stuff I have. If you're interested, PM me.

I am moving my 01 to 150 but won't go fatter than this, the new fat tires are just that .. "New", if I wanted "New" I'll go with the Yamaha new Chopper it is the bits.. but I want old and nostaligia and potato potato

You should check AIM magazine and Bobbers and Baggers magazine you will see many new builders are now switching back to the 180 as the maximum on the rear.
