Default cleaning forks

I recently moved my front turning signals and the clamps left a mark on the fork. It does not appear to be a scratch or any sticky material like peeling of a sticker. Tried all sorts of stuff to get it off but no luck.....any input would be appreciated. Would CLR damage the fork?

If there satin finish rather then chrome do not use chrome polish. It will make this area shiney and look worse. Use WD40 and wipe the area.
